10 Year Anniversary Celebration
The Kenosis Foundation recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Teen Klabb with a mass celebrated by the Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi at St Ursula’s Church in Valletta, and a dialogue with Archbishop Charles Scicluna at Santu Rokku Centre
The Evolution of the Mission
Kenosis Foundation’s mission is to promote Catholic values through Faith Formation and Teen Klabb, offering children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds a nurturing space for growth and spiritual support.
Teen Klabb was envisioned as a safe space for youths to develop emotionally and spiritually and has now flourished into a vibrant community where more than 20 volunteers serve and accompany the youths in Valletta and the surrounding areas. On the 9th of January 2015, a group of volunteers launched this initiative to offer an alternative social space at, what is now, the recently renovated Pastoral Centre of Santu Rokku, where children and adolescents meet with their friends under the mentorship of the volunteers.
Designed as a formative space, Teen Klabb helps youths build and strengthen essential social skills through the integration of faith in social and emotional learning. Through the mission of Faith Formation, the members are dedicated to offering pastoral support within parishes as they organise regular meetings, activities and catechesis throughout the year. This initiative provides children and adolescents with the opportunity to form deeper, more meaningful relationships while exploring the Gospel in practical and accessible ways. It also highlights the vital role of pastoral care in guiding adolescents through their spiritual and personal journeys.
Carrying out The Mission
Our calling is to guide children and youths on their spiritual journey, to guide them to discover who Jesus is.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ vision of creating spaces for stillness and spiritual reflection, the Centre’s Adoration Chapel offers a serene refuge for personal prayer and emphasises the youths’ thirst for a deeper relationship with God.
An integral part of the mission of Teen Klabb is its Music Ministry where children can develop their musical talents while contributing to the animation of mass.
For youths who wish to go deeper in their Catholic faith, TeenKlabb+ organises meetings once a month with the aim of helping them live out the faith in a more practical and personal way. These sessions also serve as an opportunity to develop new volunteers for Teen Klabb.
The vision of Teen Klabb has extended beyond Malta with a new project in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, established on the same principle of integrating faith with education and addressing the immediate needs of the children in that region.
